Philbrook Development, Inc.’s principal, Robert J. (Bobby) Sullivan III brings his experience in banking, construction and development to offer flexible, accountable and responsive service to investors, landowners and businesses.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Mr. Sullivan co-founded Philbrook with the late Don Love in 2001. Mr. Love, who founded Canada’s Oxford Properties and built it into one of the country’s largest property owners, developers and management firms, was an irrepressible and irreplaceable mentor to Mr. Sullivan, as he had been for countless emerging leaders through the years. Among their successful projects are Charleston Square, a mixed-used upscale community in downtown Naples, and Summerlin Commons, a 40-acre commercial office park in Fort Myers.

Earlier, Mr. Sullivan was for two years a Vice President for Lasalle National Leasing Corporation, the fourth-largest leasing financer in the United States. His expertise in financial and leasing matters increased exponentially during this time.

Yet it was his four years’ experience in the single-family custom home business that proved critical, as it was the genesis of Mr. Sullivan’s interest in the field of development. Whether supervising the construction team, understanding structural and engineering issues, dealing with permitting and governmental issues, or handling customer relations, he garnered invaluable knowledge during this career segment.

Of great value to his clients is Mr. Sullivan’s local expertise. In his fifteen-year tenure in Southwest Florida, he has established an extensive contact network, and his perspective on the past and future of this area is grounded in the very roots of our community. As a result, he can provide uncommon insight and access.

Finally, both his association with Mr. Love, whose corporate mission was “Building Relationships” and his exposure to his own family’s oil exploration business have taught Mr. Sullivan the importance of earning people’s trust. Those investors who helped to found the Sullivans’ family company in the 1950’s remain investors today, despite the high volatility of the industry. The lessons learned from this close interaction with a successful partnership venture are of lifelong value.

The Philbrook team also includes Executive Assistant Jenny Rees-Anderson, a native Australian. Educated in business administration, she spent the bulk of her career prior to joining Philbrook with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, with postings in Burma, Vietnam and Papua New Guinea. She was the recipient of the Australian Day Award for services to the diplomatic community. She also served for a year as a Club Coordinator/Manager for a Nebraska country club. As a result, Ms. Rees-Anderson brings administrative, accounting, interpersonal, office management and building management skills to the Philbrook team.
